MTP/MPO to LC harness cable, also called MTP/MPO to LC breakout cable or MTP/MPO fan-out cable, is a fiber optic cable terminated with MTP/MPO connectors on one end and LC/FC/SC/ST/MTRJ connectors (generally MPO to LC) on the other end. The main cable is usually 3.0mm LSZH trunk cable, breakout 2.0mm simplex or duplex fiber cable. Female and Male MPO/MTP Connector is available and Male type connector has guide pins. All we used MPO/MTP fiber patch cable is compliant to IEC-61754-7 and TIA-604-5(FOCIS-5) Standard. We can supply standard loss type and Elite type both. For the jacket cable we can do 3.0mm round cable also can be flat jacketed ribbon cable or bare ribbon MPO cables.

The MPO connectors used are in accordance with the standard IEC 61754-7 and IEC 61754-10, using the international well-known brand connectors. Sufficient SGS report and reliability test report.
|About MPO Insertion Loss|
All MPO fiber patch cord have been 100% double-wavelength tested, ensuring insertion loss of less than 0.35db, typical value is 0.20db, and return loss must be more than 25dB. Also, there is a standard loss(IL≤0.70db)connector for customers to choose.

The MPO-LC breakout cable acts as a bridge for 40G to 10G connections. The 40G QSFP+ optical transceiver is directly connected to the MPO connector, and the 10G SFP optical transceiver is connected to the duplex LC connector.

How to confirm the MPO connector what you need is male or female?
|Type1: Connection between MPO and MPO|
Connection between two MPO connectors, which must be one MPO connector is Female and another one must be Male.

You know, All optical modules are self-contained with Guide PIN, it means male MPO connector inside, so when connection between MPO cable and optical module, the MPO connector on cable must be the female connector.

How does the MPO cable patchcord connect to the switch in 40G system?
The MPO cable patch-cord is directly connected to the QSFP-40G-SR4 optic module. Type-B and Female MPO connector is required. The optic module is connected to the switches directly. Show as the figure.
