Indoor Multifiber Optic Cables
There are two types of outdoor multi-fiber cables — central tube type and layer stranded type.
The first one has the optical fiber in the center of the optical cable. It’s also reinforced with double steel wires, which can accommodate between four and twenty-four core optical fibers.
In the second one, the optical fiber surrounds the central reinforcement. Due to that, it can accommodate between 4 and 144 fibres.
Unlike outdoor cables, indoor ones don’t need to be reinforced as they don’t endure as much wear and tear. They do, however, have to be flame-retardant.
